Sons of Scripture is a Christian men's ministry in Hamilton and Grimsby, Ontario. Men meet every Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM for Scripture, teaching, prayer and honest accountability, alternating week to week between the Grimsby location at 321 Hunter Rd and Carisma Church at 1239 Main St E in Hamilton. Any man is welcome to walk in.

This is not passive religion. It is a brotherhood for men who want to be formed by Scripture, sharpened by other men, and sent into faithful Kingdom living.

Where do Sons of Scripture chapters meet?

Sons of Scripture has two chapters, about 26 km apart along the Hamilton and Niagara shoreline. They alternate, so there is a gathering every Saturday and each location hosts every other week. The banner at the top of this page always names the next one.

The gathering pattern

What happens at a Saturday gathering?

A gathering runs two hours in three parts: fellowship and honest check-ins, then Scripture and teaching, then prayer at the altar. Nothing is performed and nobody is put on the spot. The full walkthrough, including what to bring and what a first visit looks like, is on the gatherings page.

The three parts of a Saturday gathering

7:00 PM Heavy Iron Fellowship around a table. Real check-ins: where men are winning, where they are drifting, what they are carrying.
7:30 PM Sword & Spirit Scripture and teaching. Passages, doctrine and the standard Christ sets for men, argued out openly, and written up afterwards so a man who missed it can still read it.
8:15 PM Altar & Fire Prayer. Brothers pray for one another over family, healing, freedom from addiction, work and surrender.

The ministry identity

Who is Sons of Scripture for?

It is for men who are tired of drifting: men who want Scripture to hold real authority over their decisions, other men who will tell them the truth, and a place to pray out loud without performing. It is not a lecture series and it is not a networking club. Men come from Hamilton, Grimsby, Stoney Creek and across Niagara.

Men's discipleship

We call men into repentance, discipline, prayer, Scripture and practical obedience. Growth is not theory; it is a life submitted to Christ.

Christian brotherhood

Men need brothers who speak truth, carry burdens, resist compromise and sharpen one another toward holiness.

Kingdom living

Faith is lived through worship, outreach, service, fellowship, local church commitment and daily surrender to Jesus.

Five dollars a month

Most of what we give away goes to a man trying to feed his kids

The first call on this ministry's money is not the coffee. It is the brother in the room who is behind on rent, short on groceries, or holding a family together on one income he cannot stretch. Five dollars a month from enough men covers a lot of that quietly, without anyone having to stand up and ask.

  • Men with families first. A man in the ministry who is struggling to provide for his kids or his wife gets helped before anything else is paid for.
  • Then the gatherings. The room, the coffee, and a Bible for any man who turns up without one.
  • Then keeping it free. The leader guide, the resources and everything on this site stay free to download and free to use.
Give five dollars a month Where the money goes

Nothing at a Saturday gathering depends on giving, and nobody is asked for money at the door. Giving runs through the ministry's account on Charitable Impact, a Canadian giving platform, so Sons of Scripture never sees a card number.

Before you come

Common questions about coming to a gathering

Short answers to what men ask before a first Saturday. Anything not here, send us a message.

Do I need to register or book to come?

No. There is no registration form and no sign-up. Turn up at the address listed for that Saturday at 7:00 PM. If you would rather tell someone you are coming first, send us a message and a brother will meet you at the door.

Which Saturday is Grimsby and which is Hamilton?

The two chapters alternate week to week, so each hosts every other Saturday. Rather than counting weeks, read the banner at the top of this page: it always names the date, city and address of the next gathering.

What time does it start and finish?

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Men usually stay talking afterwards, so if you can only come for the first hour or have to leave early, that is fine and nobody will make a thing of it.

What should I bring?

A Bible if you own one, and something to write with. If you do not own a Bible, come anyway and say so; the evening is built on Scripture, so somebody will make sure you can read along.

Is this a church, or instead of church?

Neither. Sons of Scripture is a men's ministry, not a church, and it is not a substitute for one. Committed membership in a local church is part of what this brotherhood calls men toward, which is set out in the statement of beliefs and on the Kingdom Life page.

Is it only for men?

Yes. Sons of Scripture gathers men, and the accountability that happens in the room depends on that. Bring a friend, a son, a father or a brother.

I am not sure what I believe yet. Can I still come?

Yes. Men arrive at every stage, including men who are not sure they believe any of it. What is published on this site is what the ministry holds, not a test you have to pass at the door.
