A typical Saturday at Sons of Scripture

A Typical Saturday Night with Sons of Scripture Every Saturday at 7 PM, the men of Sons of Scripture gather at 321 Hunter Road, Grimsby. If you’re new, don’t worry — the parking lot gate should be open, and you can park anywhere you’d like. As you walk into the building, you’ll probably be greeted by a bunch of guys ready to welcome you in. We start by setting up the chairs in a circle, creating a space where everyone can see and connect with each other. Before we dive into the night, we go over some ground rules to make sure our time together stays meaningful and safe. First and foremost, this place is a vault: anything shared here stays here. It’s crucial that guys feel secure enough to open up without fear that their words will leave the room. We also have a tradition of passing around an object when someone wants to speak. Whoever holds the object has the floor, and we all respect that. This way, every man has the chance to share freely without interruption. Once the rules are covered, we open the night in prayer and then give space for testimonies. If someone has something powerful God’s done in their life, this is the time to share and encourage the group. After testimonies, we pass around a collection bucket. Donations go towards food for the group or helping men in need. Next, we dive into scripture. We study the passage we feel God has placed on our hearts for the week, often accompanied by a teaching from that night’s speaker. Afterward, everyone has a chance to talk about what stood out to them in the Word and how it applies to their life. When the discussion winds down, we close in prayer. Sometimes we’ll order food and hang out, or we might feel led to lay hands and pray over someone specifically. After all is said and done, we eat, talk, and maybe even make plans to hit the gym together or help a brother out during the week. If you’ve been searching for a group of guys to grow in faith with, to build brotherhood, and to walk through life’s struggles and victories side by side, come check it out. We’d love to see you there.
