Statement of Beliefs

Sons of Scripture

Sons of Scripture exists to call men to maturity, truth, and obedience to Jesus Christ through the authority of God’s Word. Our beliefs are rooted in historic, orthodox Christianity and shaped by Scripture alone.

The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is the final standard for faith, doctrine, conduct, and spiritual formation. We seek to rightly divide the Word of truth and submit our lives to it.

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, sovereign, eternal, and perfect in love, justice, and truth.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and perfectly revealed the Father. Through His death on the cross, He made full atonement for sin. He was bodily raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return again in glory to judge the living and the dead.

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Humanity is fallen and separated from God by sin, unable to save itself. Salvation is the gift of God, received through repentance and faith, resulting in forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and new life in Christ.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells, seals, and empowers followers of Christ for holy living and effective witness. The Spirit produces fruit in the life of the believer and distributes gifts according to God’s will for the building up of the Body of Christ.

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all believers united by faith in Jesus. The Church is called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, walk in holiness, and demonstrate love, unity, and truth in the world.

Sanctification and Discipleship

We believe believers are called to ongoing transformation by the renewing of the mind through Scripture and obedience to Christ. Following Jesus involves repentance, submission, discipline, and growth into spiritual maturity by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Mission

We believe every follower of Christ is called to live under His lordship and to participate in His mission. Sons of Scripture exists to encourage men to walk in truth, accountability, brotherhood, and faithfulness to Christ in every area of life.

The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive purposes. There will be a resurrection of the dead and a final judgment, and God will establish His eternal kingdom in righteousness.

Closing Statement

While we value unity within the broader Body of Christ, Sons of Scripture remains committed to biblical truth, spiritual accountability, and faithfulness to the gospel as revealed in Scripture.
